Step-by-Step

Whether we’re designing a Legacy-IRA Plan, a private placement life strategy, an enterprise risk solution, or a coordinated multi-strategy plan, every Sage engagement moves through the same five stages. We move at the pace of clarity, not pressure. Each step is documented. Each decision is yours.

Step One:

Discovery

We begin by listening. Through a structured consultation with the family — and, where applicable, the referring advisor and BGA partner — we build a complete picture of the assets, entities, relationships, and goals at stake. No strategy is presented in this phase. The goal is understanding.

Step 2:

Strategic Analysis & Suitability

Our planning team evaluates the situation against the full Sage toolkit. We model the tax exposure, examine existing structures, and identify which strategies, if any, may be appropriate. Suitability is determined before recommendations are made. If we don’t see a clear fit, we say so.

Step 3:

Strategy Design

When a strategy is appropriate, we design it in detail — the structure, the funding mechanics, the carrier and trustee selections, the documentation, and the projected outcomes under multiple assumptions. We build around established, well-documented IRS and DOL provisions, not aggressive interpretations. Everything is presented in plain language alongside the technical detail your professionals need.

Coordinated Implementation

Implementation is where most plans falter. Sage orchestrates every moving part — legal, tax, trust, insurance carrier, custodian, and BGA — so the referring advisor stays in front of the client and the family doesn’t have to manage the complexity. Each step is sequenced, documented, and confirmed before the next begins.

Ongoing Stewardship

A strategy is only as strong as the years that follow it. Sage provides annual reviews, policy monitoring, regulatory updates, and coordinated adjustments as laws, markets, and family circumstances evolve. Your advisory team stays informed at every step.
