Jason Kurchner, CFPⓇ, President & CEO

For almost four decades, Jason H. Kurchner has provided highly specialized consulting focused on solving complex, repetitive tax problems, asset protection, and risk management for wealthy families, corporations, professional practices, and philanthropic organizations across the United States.

    Jason has built Sage Consulting and Wealth Preservation on the simple notion that every dollar saved in income and/or capital gains taxes enhances client returns and reduces risks. Through strategic partnerships with accounting, financial advisory and insurance marketing firms, Jason and his team develop thoughtful, prudent solutions using innovative sequencing of tax law, risk management, and compensation planning. The results of his approach have saved his clients’ clients millions and have made Jason a sought-after speaker and panel member at national tax planning forums for CPAs, attorneys, and investment advisors.

    In addition to his role as president and CEO, Jason also holds the following positions:

With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, John Analambidakis has brought his talent to Sage to assist in the development of in-depth, customized strategies uniquely crafted to meet the individual needs of businesses, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and wealthy individuals.

    To this work, he brings a unique and powerful collection of expertise: In addition to holding executive positions at John Hancock Life Insurance Company and the Hemisphere Group, has also developed analytical applications and software marketing tools used by some of the largest insurance companies in the world.

    Some of the tools that John has created and/or authored include "Compete & Compare Series" (Manulife), The DueCare & Discovery System (The Hemisphere Group), and most recently "John Hancock Manulife Solution Suite" (John Hancock).

    His experience in the insurance industry also empowered him with the necessary skills to deconstruct all life insurance-related products, which allows him to fit the right products to clients’ planning needs and risk tolerance. His incomparable ability to provide complete transparency of the products ensures the complete understanding of plans by both clients and their advisors.

Yvonne Martinez, Director of Operations

Yvonne has served Sage for over 10 years in a role that is twofold: As a licensed insurance agent, her expertise in insurance case management and policy services provides Sage clients with the most comprehensive analysis and application of their insurance plans.

    Likewise, her experience and educational background in business administration provides Sage with an unparalleled foundation of operational organization. Yvonne identifies and prioritizes the needs of Sage from both a staff and client perspective in a way that fosters mutual fulfillment, keeping the day-to-day operations of the office balanced and harmonious.

    As our insurance liaison, Yvonne is responsible for interstate/carrier licensing as well as developing and maintaining carrier relationships. She serves the insurance needs of our clients and our staff as a benefits administrator by employing extensive case management skills fine-tuned over her combined 22 years in the industry.

    Yvonne loves to travel and see new places with her partner, Paul, and, with a son living in Colorado, she has good reason to do so. Beyond travel, she spends her time designing and decorating her properties in downtown Saratoga Springs, where she calls home.

Andrew Weinhaus, J.D., LL.M.

Andrew is the managing member of The Law Office of Andrew Weinhaus, LLC, where his practice focuses exclusively on estate planning, tax strategies and business succession for closely held entities.

    Prior to launching his own firm, he practiced law in the tax department of the St. Louis office of Coopers & Lybrand, LLP (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP), where he specialized in the representation of closely held business entities and their owners for tax and wealth transfer planning matters. In 1993, he joined the Advanced Underwriting Department of General American Life Insurance Company, a subsidiary of MetLife. For over 10 years, as vice president of advanced sales and marketing, he was involved in wealth transfer planning and business succession strategies for closely held business entities on a nationwide basis.

    Andrew is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Society of Financial Service Professionals (President - Gateway Chapter 2009 - 2010). He serves on the adjunct faculty for Washington University’s graduate tax law program teaching a course on advanced deferred compensation. He is also the author of a text on estate planning, “Generation-Skipping and Life Insurance,” originally published by General American Life Insurance Company in 1995.

Garth Bernard 

Garth brings to Sage more than 25 years of experience in the U.S. and Canadian financial services industries. He is a recognized leader in the industry, with an expertise in utilizing specific insurance and investment vehicles to design and analyze our clients’ financial solutions.

    Sage clients value his integrity and insight in providing outstanding guidance for their asset protection and long-term planning needs.

    Prior to joining the Sage team, Garth was a senior executive at MetLife, responsible for a broad suite of investment and insurance products and several annuity product lines across MetLife’s retail distribution channels. He also held executive positions at Keyport, ReliaStar Northern Life, Providian Capital Management, Transamerica and National Life of Vermont.

    Garth is called upon often by the national and industry media to provide expert opinions. He is also a frequent speaker and active participant in financial service conferences. He is past president of the International Association of Black Actuaries, a member of the Advisory Board for the American College’s Retirement Income Center, and has been a member of the American Academy of Actuaries for more than 25 years.
